I saw this pop up on Northern's Facebook page: http://orientishisname.bandcamp.com/
It looks like a small EP and features a song that Northern had posted on their website a while ago. Best of all? It's free to download.

She did everything with a flourish
As if it were a masterpiece
The final stroke of her paint brush
Or simply walking down the street
this is a pleasant surprise.

that all things bright and beautiful cd was such a wonderful release...a pity that there wasn't a real follow-up.
these songs seem pretty good...will have to give them a few listens to absorb them.
Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." Jesus
This seems to pick up where Love & Affection left off. It's not quite as lush but still very beautiful.
Just too bad it's not a proper full length.
Lee has been quietly releasing songs and demos here and there on his website and myspace in the years post Love and Affection, this is just his first official release since then. There've been several ideas bandied on his blog and message board about future albums and what that entails. The latest was that Lee and Andy and Ronnie Martin would eventually record and release a proper ATBB follow up. (Don't hold your breath, those are some busy fellas) I'm guessing that's why these four songs are under a new moniker, although some of them were previously slated as future ATBB songs. Who knows with Lee though. The joy is in the guessing. A proper chronology deserves to be created of the sophomore effort; but that was always Trendy Nate's strength - and he's been living in shame ever since he declared Smashing Pumpkins to be a greater band then Luxury - thus the loss of one of the greats in Bozeman scholarship.

Hi, this is Taylor from Quiet Company. Lee told me that he changed the moniker just because he felt like doing something different.
I just posted an extremely nerdy, and probably far too long, blog about Mr. Bozeman at http://MrRosewaterPresents.blogspot.com
Please enjoy responsibly.
"not even the creator of the universe knew what the man would say next"
This just confirms my theory that Latest and the Greatest made the Bozemans so gun shy of sophomore slumps, and second albums not meeting the hype of the first, that they refuse to ever release two albums under the same name again. However, props to James for actually getting two very fine albums out under the They Sang as They Slew moniker before breaking up the band. (Although, the tragic lack of support from shows or label [even by Bozeman standards which is saying something] for "The Resistance" makes it almost not count) Still, music is music, so Huzzah!
<Also fully aware that the Bozemans were name jumpers pre Luxury with flag day and shroud etc. (I crack myself up, like anyone was seriously going to call me on that, Bozeman scholarship is like talking to yourself)>
One more thing. First Lee Bozeman moniker that is actually googleable? I mean, have you ever tried googling "Luxury" or "The Shroud" or even "All things bright and beautiful"? Good luck with that. Now, what the heck is he referencing?

Wait, didn't you like break up the band and move to new york or some such? What is this new music nonsense!
Entirely kidding of course. So glad that you're still releasing stuff, even if "new" is a bit...erm.... on the far side of entirely true.
Any insights on the future of J. Bozeman music? Barbie Stickers perhaps? Something else? Nothing else?

The band didn't exactly break up, as much as I simply abandoned it to go back to school and pursue the priesthood. Does that sound as weird and drastic as I think it sounds? If I could have taken the guys along with me and kept doing the band while doing school, I probably would have tried to find a way to do it. Ah, well. Life changes and moves on. It should be no surprise to anyone that I miss my pals from TSATS a lot, and I miss playing the rock and roll music. But here I am, just outside of NYC attending seminary in order to be ordained and serve the Church. What a perfectly obvious thing for a former Christian musician to do in the wake of a long-waning career in music.
In any case, as time permits I will try to release some of our older material and some odds and ends that we never completed. I will also be releasing a small avalanche of stuff under my own name (or one of my many band names) that I have written over the years (think: soundtracks). Lastly, I will (hopefully) be assisting Lee with some of his continuing brilliance with ATBAB and Orient Is his Name.
I will also write Josh a nice, long letter.
Jamey
my dad took our family from Ohio to Oklahoma for Bible School when I was 7. He left a job as a bank vice president. It may not be as glamorous a job as a rockstar, but when you are called to the ministry, no matter how tough it is to leave that old life behind, you can rest assured that God will look out for you.
911, what's your emergency?
Yeah, if you're called to ministry, there's no sense in fighting it. Have fun.
Thanks a lot for posting that material. I've been meaning to hear that Canary stuff for a while now. New stuff is pretty cool too.
I got the canary album a few years ago. if I had known it was a bozeman project when it first appeared, I would have ordered it immediately.
also, if you are looking for a couple great luxury/canary songs, then hunt up the prayer chain tribute album - salutations. I probably don't really need to mention it on this board.
